SetMessageState implements the status of the message directly, without considering the smallest status of the documents. A history entry is created with the change to the status and the transferred text info.

If the specified status value corresponds to the status of the message, no change is made and no history entry is created.

SetMessageState(Status, StateHistoryValue)

Possible status values see in the column “Technical value” in: Message and document states, where the status is numerically higher or equal to the current status of the document, otherwise an error is thrown.
