Microsoft SQL Server supports two authentication modes: Windows authentication mode and mixed mode.

For installations and updates on MSSQL Server the following permissions must be considered:

1. the user who performs the installation or update must be the DBO¹⁾
2. Users must have read and write permissions²⁾
