Question

The addressing of all accounts on eGate is always done via the Pranke Participant Number. This is a ten-digit unique number, which can be searched by name or GLN under the participant search at www.pranke.com. First, please enter the 10-digit eGate participant number, which is the local part of the e-mail address, i.e. the part before the @ sign, for example:2123456789.Then the domain part follows, it always reads:egate.pranke.comThe correct addressing then looks like this (example, please replace the local part with the respective TNR of the partner).

2123456789@egate.pranke.com

Pranke eGate customers with a so-called full account can send data via SMTP and retrieve data via POP3.

Here the server configuration:

SMTP: egate.pranke.com

POP: egate.pranke.com

For gateway accounts applies:

I send from the address stored in eGate for example edi@modehaus.org to for example: 2123456789@egate.pranke.com.
Messages sent from an address other than the one registered with Pranke will be rejected, the sender must be known to us, he is on a so-called whitelist.

For example, an attempt to send edi1@modehaus.org fails because we don’t know this address.

A special problem is the BATV feature of some sender mail servers, since it always generates different sender addresses,

see: BATV Feature

Question

Those who have a PARTICIPANT NUMBER (TNR) can exchange data via eGate. But not everyone can reach all other eGate participants:

  • eGate Account
Pranke customers get an eGate account. For a monthly fee depending on the transmission volume, Pranke customers can send EDI data to or receive data from any eGate participant.

    • Pranke customers who obtain their eBiss software from a Pranke partner should first contact this partner with all questions about eGate, too.
  • Gateway addresses
To ensure that Pranke customers can actually reach any partner of their choice, TNRs are also issued to those participants who use a different transmission path/provider. Pranke takes care of the routing via so-called gateways. This type of eGate participant is therefore called a gateway participant. Gateway participants can only exchange EDI data with Pranke customers, but not with other gateway participants.

    • If the desired partner requires the use of the AS2 protocol or only has an X.400 address, the Pranke customer may incur additional costs. Symbols may indicate this in the eGate participant search.

Question

If you have a gateway account and use x400 as the transmission path, you must send the messages to the x400 eGate address. This address is in principle always the same, you only have to enter the respective participant number of the trading partner on eGate in the surname (S). You can find this on our participant search at www.pranke.com or you can ask your trading partner for it.

The following is the structure of the currently valid X.400 address of an eGate participant when sending from the X.400 network of Deutsche Telekom:

X400 Bezeichnung X400 Key Value
Country C= de
Adminstrative Domain A= viat-smtp
Private Domain P= com
Organisation O= pranke
Organisation Unit 1 OU1= egate
Surname S= <TNr>

For ‘Surname’, the TNr (= participant number) must be entered here. So for the eGate user 2800999999 the gateway address is therefore: C=de; A=viat-smtp; P=com; O=pranke; OU1=egate; S=2800999999

When sending outside the X.400 network of Deutsche Telekom:

X400 Bezeichnung X400 Key Value
Country C= DE
Adminstrative Domain A= VIAT
Organisation O= PRANKE
Surname S= EGATE

For the owner of a customer account, it is possible to determine the access of the message to the recipient.

If a service provider is connected between the sender and our eGate messaging service or between eGate and the recipient, a query may also be necessary.

This is how you can check the successful sending of messages:

Log in to eGate with your login data and open the “Sent Messages” folder.

The status of a message can be determined by an eGate customer and, if necessary, communicated to his business partner:

message_states

If you open the message by double-clicking on the message ID, you can find out the destination of the message in the Raw Header tab. Either the eGate mailbox of the recipient or the forwarding address ( gateway) of the recipient is located there.

gwme2re

If a message has been demonstrably transmitted and the recipient still does not see the message, the recipient must review his reception data or possibly instruct his support to look this up.

If a trading partner on eGate says they have not received the message, eGate full account users and partner account users can check in eGate whether the messages were successfully transmitted. If you see one of the following icons as status you can assume that the message was sent successfully (the meaning of the icons can be found in the FAQ article eGate Message Status):
egate_icon_pfeil_rechts_mit_hakenegate_icon_download
If your trading partner still declares that he has not received the data, you can also send him the technical transmission protocol (with server reply if necessary) by clicking on the ID of the relevant message in your eGate account in the send folder to open the message details
delivery_report
You can send this report to your trading partner using the Copy and paste function, so that he or she has more information on the internal drilldown reporting of the data.

I am a Pranke eGate customer. A recipient wants to receive an identical message again, but I don’t want to do this from my ERP.

Please log in to eGate to search the sent messages directory for the message. Please refer to the FAQ “How do I log in to eGate” . Once you have localized the message, mark it and select the “resend” action at the bottom of the Message Action area.
